Review

This is a fine example of everything that's good on the Amsterdam café scene. Situated on the Van Limburgstirumplein, near the Westerly end of Tram line number 10, two minutes walk from the lovely Westerpark, and in one of the city's friendliest neighbourhoods, Café De Gruyter has been beautifully renovated to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment capable of accommodating groups of people whilst still providing quiet corners for those more intimate moments. During the day they offer a selection of snacks, Dutch breakfasts, toasties, and interesting combinations of hot and cold filled rolls. The evening menu is based upon a varying dish of the day, and all items are very reasonably priced. Weather permitting, the front terrace is one of the best spots in town for enjoying a drink and a bite whilst watching the world go by. Exceptionally good service, and great music create the perfect atmosphere in which to drink and dine with friends. Six fine draught beers are available as well as a fine selection of bottled beers, wines, and spirits.
