Housed in what used to be the engine room of Amsterdam's main water pumping station, the Cafe/Restaurant Amsterdam is a bright and lively establishment providing an interesting selection of seafood, fish, steaks, salads, pasta dishes, and some delicious desserts. Although very popular it is not usually difficult to get a table as this is one of Amsterdam's larger restaurants. Weather permitting there are also waterside tables where one may enjoy the all too infrequent sun. Situated in what is essentially an ecco-friendly neighbourhood where cars are actively discouraged, you may find it easier to visit the restaurants using public transport (tram 10, and bus 21 stop close by), or by bike.
