Harkema is situated in a former factory building where architects Herman Prast and Ronald Hooft have succeeded in preserving the 'industrial' ambience whilst creating what is essentially a Parisian brasserie in the centre of Amsterdam. They have three separate rooms for private dining parties of between 12 and 104 people in "The Annex"
For starters we had brioche of crab and shrimp in lobster sauce, and artichoke pie with asparagus. For the main course we had tuna steak which was nice, and lamb which, to be honest, was a little on the tough side. The service was great, and place feels like a top Conran restaurant in London, although the prices are closer to those of Pub-grub, basically providing overall good value for money.
